Sometimes you only need the signature page from a contract, or one chapter from a report. Splitting by page range gets you just that, cleanly.
How to specify a page range
List ranges separated by commas, like "1-3,5,8-10", using a hyphen for consecutive pages. For a 20-page document where you don't need the cover (page 1) or the appendix (pages 15-20), you'd enter "2-14".
Separate files vs one combined file
Whether you want each range as its own file or all the selected pages merged into one depends on the use case — separate files for distributing to different departments, one combined file if you're assembling a trimmed-down report.
Split vs delete — don't mix them up
If you just want to drop a few pages and keep everything else, deleting pages is faster. If you want to pull out one specific range, splitting is the right tool.
